I have been struggling for almost three months, since I made this photo, and even before then, to make a photograph with which I am truly satisfied. I can’t begin to explain how awesome it is to post th is photo and feel so proud.
This shot was inspired by Utata’s Me and My Camera project… it just took me a while to incubate the idea. It is a sort of follow up to this photograph, from last summer. Same photographer, same prop camera. New studio, new home, new country.. me, one year later.

Charlie, I can imagine that it must have been frustrating to have felt that you’d reached a new level in your work and then been unable to match that in the months to follow. I am so happy that you’ve found inspiration again! This is a lovely image – it’s clear how much you’ve grown as a photographer.

For sure, a shot to be proud of! I particularly like the composition, with your elbow just touching the bottom of the frame; it gives the picture a three dimensional quality in that your arm and the camera seems to come out from the photo. Wonderful background colour too!
